A Real No-Brainer | What are You Thankful For?
This could very well be the easiest post or the hardest post for me to write depending on how you look at it. I just recently learned about an ActiveRain Contest for the month of November sponsored in part by DocuSign, the electronic signature company.
The idea behind the contest is because Real Estate Professionals using DocuSign save on average at least 3 hours per week between faxing documents back and forth, printing and filing, and driving across town for signatures. So the contest is if you could save an extra 3 + hours per week, please share what your thankful for or what you would do with your luxurious free time.
After the recent events for me over the past week and half, this is a real no-brainer. What would I do with an extra 3+ hours per week? I would with out a doubt spend more time with my friends and family.
After having to put down a dear pet three months ago and then the unexpected death of my Father George Hrisco, last Monday, (it still hasn’t sunk in), you come to realize just how precious life is and how we should spend as much quality time with the ones we love.
Because you just don’t know when you are speaking with someone, that it could very well be the last time you have an opportunity to do so. So choose wisely the words you use. Quit bickering about unimportant matters, (not applicable in my case, just saying), Speak from the heart.
I would spend that extra 3 + hours going to see that movie that I have been wanting to see for a long time. Planning and actually taking that date night with my wife. Taking my doggies to the dog park more. Reading a book just for the fun of it, not because I have to. Calling a friend or family member whom I haven’t spoken to in a few years. Planning and then actually taking that dream vacation you have been talking about for years.
Whatever you do, do it with no regrets, we only get one shot at life. Do the right thing. If more people did the right thing, the world would be a much better place.
I am thankful for the many years that I did have with my Mother and Father, though I think they died too young, (Mom: 68; Dad: 76). Looking back recently at old photographs of years gone by, I am thankful for the childhood I had. I am thankful for the work ethic instilled in me by my father. I am thankful for the history behind our name, and an interesting history it is indeed. I recently learned some things about my Father that I did not know before. I am thankful for the loving, supportive spouse which I have. And finally, thankful to be alive. (sorry for the downer, but had to share what was on my mind.)
