Northeast Tarrant County Real Estate Experts: Places to Eat in Southlake Texas

Places to Eat in Southlake Texas

If you are looking for places to eat in the town of Southake,Texas then look no further than the “Fish City Grill”.  I know there is an abundance of restaurants in Southlake, TX to choose from, especially around the area of Southlake Town Square.  And a lot of times you might feel overwhelmed about choosing a nice place to eat.

My wife and I recently tried out, (a new place to us at least), “Fish City Grill” located at 2750 E. Southlake Blvd, #130 Southlake, Texas 76092.  It is located just down the street to the east, from Southlake Town Square.

“Fish City Grill” is known as the Home of the Oyster Nacho! (I meant to take a picture of the neon sign) with their “Love at first bite guarantee: if you don’t love’em, we’ll buy’em”.  Upon entering, it was a very cozy and inviting atmosphere.  There is a bar area to the left and a dining area to the right along with chalkboards on the walls that display the “Happy Hour specials” in the bar area and the Daily Specials” in the dining area.  They feature Alaska Seafood.

Upon being seated we were greeted by Stewart our waiter, who was very courteous and friendly. When he learned that it was our first time visiting the establishment, he asked us if we would like a free sample of the Oyster Nachos and the soup specialties.  It is something they do for all first time visitors.  My wife doesn’t like oysters, but I said as long as they were fried, sure, why not.  A few minutes later Matt, the General Manager, brought out a plate with four small samples of their specialty soups and another plate with two oyster nachos on it.  The four different soups were:  Born on the Bayou Gumbo, Crab Bisque, Clam Chowder, and Cream of Roasted Jalapeno soup.  Though they were all good, our personal favorites were the Clam Chowder (me) and the Jalapeno (both of us) soups.   My wife liked the Jalapeno soup so much; we bought a cup to go.  Next I tried the Oyster Nachos, it was a lightly fried oyster on a tortilla chip, with chipotle tartar sauce & topped with fresh pico de gallo.  They were absolutely delicious.

Fish City Grill Restaurant

After we finished the free samples, our lunch entrees arrived.  My wife got the Mahi Mahi Fish BLT Sandwich, which was one of the specials of the day and I got the Fish City Sandwhich, which is Fresh tilapia fillet, (choice of grilled, blackened or fried, I got blackened) with remoulade sauce, lettuce, tomato & onion.  We split both sandwhiches and swapped halves so we could both try out each other sandwhich.  They were both tasty as you can see here.  We didn’t have room for dessert this time around but I definitely want to try some of their Homemade Bread Pudding, Key Lime Pie, or Blackberry Cobbler next time we visit which will be sooner rather than later.

Even though “Fish City Grill” has been at that location for about 6 years now, we had never visited it before, but will in the future.  They feature Happy Hour Specials (cheap$) 3-7 every day.  Fish City Grill turns out, has many locations in Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Oklahoma, & Texas.  I encourage you to check out a location near you at your earliest convenience.  One of Fish City Grill’s slogan’s is “Friendly Folks, Serious Seafood” and I believe they lived up to every bit of that.

Hi Rebekah, if they will not take you there, give me a shout and we'll go eat there.   It is right off Hwy 114 in Southlake not too far from the North end of DFW Airport.  They do have several locations in Dallas, one right aroud the corner from Benchmark and another one right down the tollway off Frankfort.  Here is info on the one at the shops at Legacy.  It's like a sister restaurant, hence the slightly different name.

Hi Kristine, I wrote several of the post over the last couple of days, but didn't want to make them public in the middle of the night, so yeah, it looks like I did a lot of them today, which I guess there were 3 or 4 from early this morning....you know how it is, you get on a roll, and can't stop.  I wish it was a Maui-Maui, you mean Mahi-Mahi?..thanks for your visit and comments, :0)

Hi Joni, she actually picked the place...and it was awesome...

Hi Marilyn, thank you, Picnik is pretty cool.  I wanted to review Kristine's G. latest post about Picnik, but AR is not displaying pictures in post right now....so will have to come back tomorrow during the day and hopefully they have it fixed.  Picknik is pretty easy, and have learned a lot from looking at Kristine's post.  Sounds like I accomplished what I set out to, if you got hungry reading this post....I'm not a big fan of oysters, but the oyster nachos were incredible...

Hi Teral, your hubby is missing on some of the finer things in life then.....love all foods, but seafood is one of my favorites...right up there with Italian, and you can't forget American...oh yeah, Mexican food too....

Dang, Now I'm getting hungry writing these comments....

LOL - I must have vacation on my mind! How about a mahi sandwich in Maui - that's a perfect world!

Posted by Kristine Ginsberg, Morris County, NJ Stager (Morris County, NJ: Elite Staging and Redesign, LLC) almost 3 years ago

Hi Kristine, a lady after my own heart.....I'm right there with you...fell in love with Mahi, Mahi and Maui on our honeymoon and subsequent vacation back in 05/07...have you been to Maui, if so, have you ate at the Hula Grill?  Mahi, Mahi, fish tacos at the Hula Grill, I could live on those things.

John - you are making me hungry!  This is an an excellent Localism post!  It sounds like you and the wife enjoyed a good time together as well as getting to sample some pretty awesome food.

Hi Melinda, once you've been to the Hula Grill, you'll be hooked. We told a neighbor of ours who recently visited Oahu with her husband who was doing a two week naval reserve tdy assignment about it. In Oahu, the casual side is called Duke's, and the dressier side is the Hula Grill. But on Maui, it's the opposite, the Hula Grill is the casual, barefoot side and Duke's is the dressier side. She liked it so much, she said she ate there every day she was there.

Hi Barbara, thank you very much for the compliment, I guess I accomplished my goal with this post if you saying that. This was our 4th July weekend lunch outing, so definite surprise, for a place we had never been. When we started tasting the food, we both almost at the same time said that I had to write a post about it. Even went out to the car to get the camera. FYI, did these last few comments on my iPhone, so I guess that feature is working now!
